Dr. Rick Repetti is a native New Yorker who grew up in the NYC public housing projects in Queens. Raised in a blue collar, ethnic family of nine, he was a HS Dropout who went to college 8 years later, after working as a truck driver, among many other jobs.
Professionally and academically, he has had a long relationship with CUNY (City University of New York). He attended Lehman College, Hunter College, and Brooklyn College. He earned his M Phil in 2003 and his PhD in Philosophy in 2005 from CUNY Graduate School.
Dr. Repetti previously taught at Brooklyn College and LaGuardia Community College. Currently, he is a tenured, full-time professor of philosophy at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, an academic institution he has taught at since 1996.
He is the author of several published articles and books on free will, meditation, and Buddhism. A long-term practitioner (since 1975) and instructor of yoga & meditation (since 1991), he now provides many forms of these services to the public.
In addition, Dr. Repetti is a 4th degree black belt in Shotokan karate, and a Philosophical counselor/ life coach. He is also a frequent guest or co-host on various podcasts, recently with actor, Mark Pellegrino (Lost, Supernatural, 13 Reasons Why) regarding The Guardian Project.
